Scott Belcher

Scott Belcher is the current band and chorus director at Nelson County High School in Lovingston, VA.  He is a 1973 graduate of Princeton Senior High School in Princeton, WV and earned his education degree in music from Concord College (now Concord University) in 1977.  He went on to complete his Masters in School Administration at Old Dominion University.

Scott began his professional music career in 1967 at the age of 12.  He played with several garage bands as a part time hobby until taking his career on the road traveling the Eastern United States with a top 40 band called Top Flite in 1981.  Scott has performed with Sounds Unlimited, Funky Mountain Express, Bits and Pieces and Leaf…featuring multiple genres…from top 40 to funk, country, and hard rock and roll.

After coming off the road Scott performed with the Scott Thomas Band, Velvet and Company, Sugarfoot, and Crossroads.  In 1997, Scott joined the popular regional show band – The Collegians from Bluefield, WV and performed with them until the group retired at the end of 2012.  After a short stint with a start up band – One More Time, Scott teamed up with musicians from Central Virginia to form the very popular, Rewind Band.

Scott and his wife of 37 years, Debbie Asbury Belcher from Tazewell Virginia, live in Fishersville Virginia.
